The challenge
- RHD and myxomatosis, both highly contagious and often fatal.
- Coccidiosis causing digestive symptoms and delayed growth, especially in young rabbits.
- E. cuniculi and other diseases in group housing.
- Introduction through insects, equipment, feed and new animals.
Our approach
- 01Clean and disinfect hutches, bowls, water bottles and equipment.
- 02Where coccidiosis pressure is present, address oocysts with a suitable disinfectant.
- 03Quarantine new rabbits and control insects associated with myxomatosis.
- 04Support digestive health during stress and diarrhoea.
- 05Maintain good feed and water hygiene.

Frequently asked questions
01Which product is effective against RHD?
RHD virus is highly resistant. Virkon™S is effective against RHD when preceded by thorough cleaning and used at the correct concentration and contact time. Vaccination remains the most important protection.
02How should coccidiosis in rabbits be controlled?
Coccidia oocysts survive ordinary disinfection. Thorough cleaning followed by a product effective against oocysts, such as Aldecoc® CMK, lowers infection pressure. Combine this with dry, clean housing.
03Why is rabbit digestive health so sensitive?
Rabbits have a sensitive digestive system that can be disrupted quickly by stress, dietary changes or medication. Good hygiene, gradual feed changes and an appropriate ZooLac paste support digestive balance.
